Diet Herb

It’s truly amazing the amount of uses from so many different herbs have been discovered and developed over the years.  Today, while I’m looking into the traditional Chinese medicinal herb, Schisandra chinensis, well known as the five flavor berry of the north, I have to say I’m very impressed by the numerous reasons it’s been used.

Just to mention a few, besides its basic immune system boosting and liver tonic like properties, I see it’s recommended for strengthening the digestive organs, kidney functions as well as boosting energy levels for self healing.  And to think schizandra has been used for centuries!

Well, it’s been a common fact for quite a while now that fish oils can make major contributions to one’s heart healthy program. Healthy cholesterol and triglyceride levels can be held in check when a healthy diet contains omega 3 fatty acids EPA and DHA.

The effects of omega 3 benefits have been proven again and again particularly in the last decade.  And now, multiple sources for omega 3 fatty acids, including krill oil as well as flax seeds, have been discovered and highly recommended by medical experts.  Further, the uses recommended have expanded to include anti aging skincare and aid for symptoms of depression.

Without question, herbs have been used medicinally for centuries at this point.  For instance, China has a list of fifty herbs in their traditional medicine chest!  And, a common theme for numerous herbs is that they are used to promote healthy blood circulation.

I think it’s fairly common knowledge that herbs like garlic and ginger are often used to boost blood circulation. Hawthorn berry is also a natural circulation booster.  Did you know that gingko biloba actually helps with memory functions by boosting blood flow to the brain?  Did you know cayenne is thought of as very effective for strengthening capillaries and heart stimulation by improving the circulation?  Interesting that so many different natural ways of improving blood circulation have been the focus of herbal supplements and foods over the years!

Nitric oxide (NO), can be a key ingredient in the stimulation of blood flow and therefore is of great interest in the studies concerning heart disease.  While naturally produced by the body, the amount of nitric oxide produced varies during different periods of the day.

The natural bodily production of nitric oxide is lowest during periods of rest, most certainly at night during sleep.  Many experts believe that because of this low ebb in nitric oxide production, and therefore low ebb in blood flow, many heart attacks occur the first thing upon rising in the morning.  Consequently, many people are now employing cardiovascular supplements formulated to promote NO production.  The best one I’ve found focuses on circulation and cardiovascular health by stimulating natural nitric oxide production at night while I’m sleeping!

In particular, muscle relaxers known as spasmolytics are the relaxers of choice for easing discomfort.  Their are centrally acting classified muscle relaxants focused toward the relief of muscular discomfort and spasms.  Doctors frequently recommend spasmolytics for back pain, neck discomfort and tension head aches.

But, there is no overwhelming evidence that there is one drug more effective than another for this purpose.Further, all of these muscle relaxing drugs do indicate production of an unwanted effect having to do with sleepiness and lightheadedness.  Therefore, safety could become a concern while needing this kind of aid.  I suggest finding a healthy alternative.  Seeking out all natural, organic muscle relaxers is definitely the way to go for relief of pain while still needing to function during daily routines and fearing no danger.  I’ve discovered a pain relief muscle relaxer that uses the herbal extract from tang quai, a Chinese herb.  The female members on my team also swear by it for relief of PMS symptoms and cramping.  But, I’ll tell you from my experience with it, it’s great for all pain relief for men too!
